Goin' to the chapel

At the end of June we took a trip to Columbia, South Carolina for my cousin's wedding. It was a short trip but it was still a lot of fun. We got to see family and dance the night away...what more could you ask for?
As a side note, Amelia was 10 months old on the trip (she'll be 11 months in two days!!!) so that means she has been to 10 states in less than 10 months. She's a pretty accomplished young lady if you ask me.

The ceremony took place in the Washington Street Methodist Church. It's a beautiful chapel and has a really neat history. In 1865 some Union soldiers led by the infamous William T. Sherman came to Columbia with their hearts set on lighting a fire at the Baptist church. However, a sly group of baptist gentlemen told the soldiers that the church on Washington street was indeed the First Baptist Church of Columbia. So, Sherman and his men set the place a blaze believing all along they were roasting marshmallows over the flames of the Baptist church. You can read more about the church's history here.

And the Most Handsome 2nd Cousin Award goes to....

The get away car

It's nearly impossible to see what's going on in this picture, but I love it.
It summarizes our evening well - lots of moving and occasionally passing a baby back and forth.

I love all these ladies!
